9-22-20 THOUGHT

Today’s thoughts are a “WAKE UP CALL!”  My self examination says that I need this! I need to get more done!   The effect of life NOW seems to be lulling...  tranquilizing.  The word RESIGNATION comes to mind.   Here’s my passage!
Heb 6:11-15  And we desire that each one of you show the same
diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, 12  so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13  For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14  saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU." 15  And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.  (Other words translated sluggish = Slothful, half-hearted, lazy are other translations.)              Go read   Hebrews 11:1-12:3
Heb 5:11 Concerning him we have much to say, and [it is] hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
It seems they at one time were not dull of hearing, but have BECOME such?
Prov 12:24-30    The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack [hand] will be put to forced labor.
Matt 25:24-30   Jesus is relating the parable of the talents.  When I truly reflect on this, it DEEPLY STIRS my soul.   AM I USING THE TALENTS GOD GAVE ME?

IT IS A FRUIT DEMAND!  IT IS IN NO WAY
                     A REQUEST OR AN OPTION!

 "And the one also who had received the one talent came up and said, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you scattered no seed. 25  ‘And I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the ground. See, you have what is yours.’ 26  "But his master answered and said to him, ‘You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. 27  ‘Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest. 28  ‘Therefore take away the talent from him, and give it to the one who has the ten talents.’ 29  "For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. 30  "Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Rom 12:11  not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
2Pet 1:10  Therefore, brethren, be all the more
diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;
Rom 2:7     to those who by
perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;
Heb 10:36   For you have need of
endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

Matt 13:9     "He who has ears, let him hear."

My Prayer:
Wake us up, Oh God,  to the possibilities and opportunities of serving you.  Turn our selfish behavior into joyful, loving, serving behavior.  Give us energy to focus on that which matters.
In the name of precious Jesus                  Amen
